PostSubject: VIRUS Scare hoax   Tue Dec 21, 2010 6:42 pm

I got a PM from an admin of Forumotion that claims that we have a virus on this forum....

Here is a copy of the Pm
===================================================

Dear Tobias Kado,

It has come to forumMotion's attention that several link's on your website have become affected. This will affect the overall way your website functions and can lead to viruses being spread to user's on this website. We advise you take action soon before your site crashes. This is simply a suggestion but it's highly recommended you act upon it.

Toby Tue Dec 21, 2010 6:22 pm

I have noticed.

How can I go about fixing this?

Toby
Forumotion.com Tue Dec 21, 2010 4:53 pm

Sincerely,
Jen Lorsa from Forum Motion
Deleting the affected posts or downloading a website virus search may help but this costs money.

The affected areas are Simulated Survival, your whole north America section and most of the character applications.

Forumotion.com
=================================================
Members, I suggest a purge or a migration immeadiately You might want to back-up any necessary stuff. I may purge the apps and Simulated survival. I am giving you guys a heads up...

No.
It's a member that sent it, someone who registered at forumotion.com., and then they spelled Forummotion wrong in the message (forumMotion, Forum Motion), so no.

And besides, the worst that could happen is we get sent spam in our emails that will filter if we are not using shitty email's and (I'm hoping anyway) that we are not stupid enough to open.

the only new member that I have seen promoting this rumor is the Ghoul. He was talking about it in chatbox. You may want to question him with a pair of jumper cables and a pair of needle nose pliers. I think both Toby and I were on when he brought it up.

No no his profile was deleted. The profile name was "Forumotion.com" and no one should not be able to change it without an admins permission. He did get a virus but that can happen anytime. Plus I told him already told him what happened.
